Marcus Hanel is the bullpen catcher for the Milwaukee Brewers and President of Koos for Kids, a charitable organization geared to help terminally ill and disadvantaged children in Southeastern Wisconsin. Marcus played professional baseball for 11 seasons in the minor leagues, during which he won awards for his play on the field and for his commitment to the communities in which he lived and worked. With the Milwaukee Brewers, Marcus works with catchers on their defense, throws batting practice, hits ground balls to infielders, and warms up pitchers before and during games. He often visits schools in Racine, Kenosha & Milwaukee to talk to students about the importance of staying in school and achieving their goals. Marcus currently lives in Racine, WI with his wife Jill and their four children.


Founded in 2005 by Marcus Hanel, Koos for Kids is a charitable organization that finances projects and services needed by terminally ill and disadvantaged children in Southeastern Wisconsin. Koos for Kids utilizes various avenues to help the local community, from purchasing thousands of winter coats to running a baseball league for special needs children to holding events to raise funds and awareness for its causes.
